Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 25, 2026

Build By Two & One Limited ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Wave mobile application ("Wave"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly when using Wave:

  • Account Information — such as your name, email address, and login credentials. This may include authentication via Apple ID, Google account, or email and password.
  • Maritime and Document Data — including certificates, sea service records, vessel details, and any other information that you choose to upload or enter into the app.
  • Device Information — such as device type, operating system version, and a unique device identifier for syncing and push notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Wave service, including offline functionality
  • Store, organize, and display your certificates and sea service records
  • Send notifications related to certificate expirations and important account activity, if enabled by you
  • Generate exportable records (e.g., PDF exports) upon your request
  • Improve and develop new features based on aggregated, anonymized usage data

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and may be securely synchronized with our cloud infrastructure to enable backup and cross-device access.

We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls. Access to production systems is restricted and monitored.

While we take appropriate measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure.

4. Data Access and Responsibility

You are responsible for the documents and information you upload to the app.

We do not access or review your documents unless necessary for technical support, to maintain the service, or to comply with legal obligations.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

We only share information:

  • When you explicitly export or share your data (e.g., PDF export)
  • When required by law or to comply with a valid legal request
  • When necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public
  • With trusted third-party service providers (such as authentication and cloud infrastructure providers) strictly for the purpose of operating the app

6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your data based on:

  • Your consent
  • The necessity to provide the service
  • Compliance with legal obligations

7. Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal data
  • Request a full export of your data
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing
  • Request data portability

You can exercise these rights directly within the app or by contacting us.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

9. International Users

Wave is intended for use worldwide. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in jurisdictions outside your country of residence.

We take appropriate measures to ensure that your data is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy, regardless of where it is processed.

10. Children's Privacy

Wave is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
